With significant help from your side, I was able to solve the drinking water issues at five places in Kainagari panchayat (5th ward). The beneficiaries of this project were 25 poverty stricken families and 150 kids of the Govt. L P School in Kainakari.
Now, as I moved to the next stage, I am planning to donate a motor boat to a school in Munroe island in Kollam district.
The lush green and picturesque Perungalam Govt. HSS located on the eastern side of Kollam has a disturbing side that one must not fail to notice.
Perungalam is surrounded by backwaters and untouched by modernity. You won't find inroads made via bridges or highways.Sadly it is not a resort l am talking about, but a school up to higher secondary level. The trouble with transportation due to lack of a bridge puts 250 students and 33 staff of this school at the mercy of boat service. The school has not managed to get a boat of their own. The school has to totally depend on the Government boat service. However the timings of the boat do not properly sync with the timings of the school Missing a trip in the morning would mean missing a school day .
The school's working hours are in a way adjusted so that the children and staff won't miss the trip back home.
Almost being isolated from the rest of the district, an emergency would truly put them at risk . The recent flood nearly submerged the place and would have devastated the lives of these children had there not been any help from the fishermen.
I take up this challenge to put an ease to their suffering . My goal is to get a boat for these children. The school authorities were of the opinion that such a boat would not be used just for the children of the school but for anyone in Perungalam at a time of distress. I pray that God may help us in bringing this humongous task a success.
Remaining amount required is 250,000.
With your maximum contribution we can complete this noble cause within the stipulated time.
