Hitarth 2 years MDS AML Blood Cancer and Bone Marrow Failure

  • Image title

    Dear Friends

I hope that this Email reach you and I am able to convey my concerns to you.

My 2.6 year old Kid Hitarth Patel is currently admitted to Apollo Ahmedabad.  he is currently surviving Blood Cancer along with Bone Marrow Failure (MDS-AML)

I belong to a middle class family. Ever since my kid was suffering since August 2015 we were trying everything to detect his decease but even after spending hard earned money (nearly 7-8 lacs) we could not able to find the cause of his illness. But finally in mid November doctor's found that his BONE MARROW is not functioning and it is totally Failed.

After consulting with city doctors about the cost of the procedure we were in deep trouble and so we decided to check with the Civil Hospital (Govt. Hospital)  but when we checked that the hospital has proper Transplant facilities but it is only limited up to Adults. And so there were no Pediatric Emergency care for such small kids for this particular illness.  Having left with no choice we reached to Apollo hospital @ Ahmedabad.

When we were about to start the search for the Bone Marrow doner, at last doctors found that he has been attacked with Blood Cancer (AML) and we started his treatment there it self. But the cost is very high which is out of our hands. The further course of treatment is mandatory. And we are not in a situation to handle the cost of it.

As understood from doctors that this decease in small kids is very very rare.

Considering the criticality and the situation,  I on behalf of my family is urging you for some kind of help as we are backing no one's support.

I know that God will listen our prayers.

God will always bless the person who helps the needy.

Dear Supporter,

We are deeply saddened to inform you that Hitarth passed away today morning. We received the news from his father Dhyanesh. Hitarth was on supportive care at home for the past few days. His condition deteriorated yesterday night and he passed away at around 6.35 am today.

It has been a difficult journey for the family for the past few months and we hope they find strength in this time of grief. May the little one's soul rest in peace.

Dear Supporter,

We have an update from Hitarth's father.

Dear all,

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. You all are there in our prayers every day.

Hitarth is at home. It is very hard for me to say that he is on pain killers. Every 2 days, he has to undergo platelets transfusion to stop bleeding. This is followed by blood transfusions. Doctors have informed there is nothing much to do for Hitarth. He is not responding to treatment. As parents, we cannot give up, we want to see our son alive but he is happy to be around us and is disturbed by treatment procedures.  When I receive calls from few of you, I really want to tell you he is well, recovering but he is not. Your support helped him till now, to be with us.  Amidst the pressure to settle pending bills and looking for options to help Hitarth, I am unable to express what we are going through during our calls. We are grateful to you for helping our son's treatment till now. It really hurts me to tell you this news.

He is on supportive treatment to take his pain away. It was not easy to know that there is no way to help Hitarth or to decide that we cannot do anything further for him, but Hitarth's little body cannot take more harsh treatment. We have realised that and now we are doing our best to keep him comfortable. Do keep our son in your prayers. Thank you for helping us till now. We wouldn't have had our son with us till now if not for your timely help.

Dear Supporter,

We have an update from Dhyanesh.

Hitarth is stable but there is no treatment except the blood transfusions every 3 to 4 days. He is having a fever and the food intake has reduced. The Hospital has given us some discount, but we still have to pay 15 lakhs.

I would like to thank each of you for your support and prayers. I get calls from supporters and I am blessed to have  so many people concerned and praying for my son.

Thank you once again.
