SYNMAL BY BIET
BIET is an undergraduate student team based in INNOVATION LAB at VIT Vellore working on Development of Bio-Inspired Design and Engineering systems.

SYNMAL - Is a synthetic animal. The locomotion style and efficiency is inspired by a Squirrel. The tail Motion and dynamic balancing is inspired from a squirrel's behavior, the lateral movement of the tail and propulsion in water is inspired from an Alligator.

SYNMAL is completely autonomous robot that can be deployed for ecological service and exploration.
The robot is capable to traverse on any terrain and traverse through still water.
The applications are enormous and SYNMAL also hosts scope for any type of exploration or ecological application.
The intelligence and behavioral models are inspired from several different species.

BIET requires financial support to fund the budget that includes expensive micro-controllers, sensors and instrumentation, smart materials, manufacturing and fabrication costs, Custom made motors and actuators, Data acq. and experimental support devices etc.
