Story

Dear Sirs, Sorry for the lengthy message. But we need public attention here..

We have young chap representing India in Asian and pacific powerlifting championship. He needs financial support. Can anything be done?

Below details

Vishwanatha Bhaskar hailing from a poor family in Kundapura, near Udupi, is an international Powerlifter and secured 4 International and 17 National medals in Powerlifting championships. Recently awarded as “Jerai Strong Man of INDIA - 2016”, competition held at Mumbai and junior level record holder in 83kg category.
Now he got selected to represent INDIA to take part at the Asia – Oceania Classic Powerlifting Championship to be held at CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND during 4th to 11th December, 2016.
The total cost of the travel and stay is estimated to be approximately Rs.2, 75, 000. Unfortunately, his parents cannot afford this money and in fact to support his family, Vishwanath is working as contract employee in SAPLABS in night shift.
We have approached few organizations and NGOs for the sponsorship of upcoming competition; however could not get any support yet as this sport is not popular.
We also tried to get in touch with Sports ministry, government of Karnataka for sponsorship. However, it's declined stating that since he representing India, central government needs to support.
A friend of mine has already spoken to karnataka youth & sports minister, but yet he didn't get any support..

Vishwa is at the verge of dropping this opportunity if he does not get any financial support. believe together we can do something.
I have uploaded his championship photos and couple of av’s on my Facebook account. Happy to share them to you.

I had initiated this by name "Mission Vishwa" and goof response from public. We have been able to pool Rs. 115k till now, need another Rs. 160k more.

The deadline for sending DD for 275K is by 21st Oct.

We have sent appeal to some of MPs representing karnataka on Facebook.. Yet to get response. Please support him by clicking on the 'Donate Button' and making a contribution.
