Although we are in the year 2018, 240 million Indians are without electricity. Out of the remaining 1 billion Indians, 700 million Indians do not have 24 hour electricity. All of these 700 million people reside in the rural parts of the country and get electricity ranging from 4 hours to just under 8 hours of supply each day making their days and nights difficult even without basic lighting.

Women find it difficult to cook their meals in the evenings and school going children find it difficult to study without power supply during evenings and nights. Rural India is facing a lot of problems and irregular and erratic power supply is one of them causing extreme strain on the life of these people. Also snake bites very common in the rural areas owing to poor visibility and hundreds of people especially children and women loose their lives. 

So we, at Bhoomi Foundation have found a novel way to lessen the strain the poor and the underprivileged villagers in the country face by  way of distributing Rechargable LED Bulbs to them. They will be give two 9 watt rechargable LED Bulbs per rural household.

Each Bulb costs Rs. 200 per piece and lighting a single home would cost Rs. 400. Our aim is to touch the lives of 2500 homes by the end of the year. Covering 2500 homes would just touch 3-4 villages in a country of 6 million villages.
