What would you do if you had a Colosseum all for yourself? Aarthi, all of twelve years, penned this down in her answer script. She believes in the power of education. She aims to be a future leader.
Then there's Senthamizh Selvi, a bright ten year old whose eyes spark with curiosity every time she opens a new book. She brims with joy every time she translates the ideas in her book to her classmates.
These are just few among our students whom we have come to see as future leaders in their under resourced community.
However, they do not have a space to foster their leadership skills, or pursue their favourite hobbies. Their homes, often are not conducive for learning, with absolutely no room for imagination. Despite the odds, our students’ commitment to learning is immense.They are aware that investing in their education can help them change their life trajectory in a meaningful way.
As a school team, we envision our students to be self aware individuals who know their strengths and can leverage them.Keeping this vision in mind, we are creating a community center for our student which will foster their curiosity and independent learning. Our community centre will drive digital literacy, skill development, career planning and extracurricular activities aligned with students interests. We aim to mould our students to become catalysts for change with leadership opportunities.
We are a team of 3 enthusiastic fellows: Alamelu Kathiresan, Sanjana Rajaram, Shalini Ilanahai who are currently teaching class 6, 7 and 8 students at Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School, Nungambakkam.
