Gandhi fellowship is a platform where some young budding entrepreneurs live for two years in rural areas, fending for themselves, immersing themselves in the community and supporting primary school head teachers to transform their schools.
I am a Gandhi Fellow working with 25 government schools in Pataudi. Government schools have such a plight situation that students here don't even have a desk to sit upon. Be it winters or summers they have to sit on a carpet which is torn from a lot of places. In some schools, the students need to carry something upon which they can sit.
I always remember the walls of my school having beautiful paintings and quotes but students here in government schools has empty white walls making the environment peaceful as well as monotonous.
We are starting a campaign called BALADESK in which we are collecting funds for desks and paint for these schools. You can contribute us in several ways. You can donate some money as well as you can also volunteer when we will be painting these schools so that the building could be a learning aid for teachers.
