Help 4-year-old Sowntharika recover from deep dermal flame burns.Baby Sowntharika is an adorable cute little girl aged 4 years. She is the precious child of Illayaraja and Kannagi who is living in a small village called Kallupatty in Karur district. This couple has another boy child who is just 7 months old. Sowntharika is a very active kid, easily mingles with all, loved by her whole village. Her parents were planning for her school admission this coming June. She has a stunning IQ level that she can recite numbers till 1000, remembering and every face she is seeing.

Unfortunately on February 5th, Sowntharika met with a fire accident while playing at her home and suffered severe burns shattering her parent’s dreams. Immediately, Sowntharika’s parents took her to the government hospital which is 19 kilometres away from her residence where she was given first-aid and was advised to move to another hospital with good amenities. Her parents brought her to a private hospital in Coimbatore where she was admitted in ICU with 50% full thickness / deep dermal flame burns of both lower limbs, bilateral buttock, perineum, abdomen and back.

The treatment is very expensive wherein initially, it was estimated to touch 5 lakhs. During her treatment course in the hospital, Sowntharika has undergone multiple procedures such as burn wound excision, allograft application, re-application of allograft, SSG cover for abdomen, Meek grafting for right lower limb. Her wounds are so severe that Sowntharika needs multiple procedures for healing of all burn wounds.Today, she is showing good signs i improvement with steady progress, able to see and and eat. Sowntharika’s parents are desperate to give her good treatment and save her. Illayaraja, her father is a lorry driver and earns a very meagre salary and is taking loans from his friends and relatives for her treatment which would not suffice. She is in urgent need of specialized treatment and multiple surgeries to recover fully which would cost another 9.50 lakhs. We need more helping hands to support her treatment.
