A few days back, 39-year-old Bhakkiyalakshmi and her husband Sivanandam gave birth to a baby girl.Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a joyous occasion for them turned into a nightmare after their baby was born premature.

The baby is in a critical state on ventilator support and needs prolonged stay in the ICU for over 2 weeks in order to survive. 

39-year-old Bhakkiyalakshmi and Sivanandam waited for  8 long years after marriage for a baby. When Bhakkiyalakshmi had multiple miscarriages, she had almost given up hope but IVF treatment made it possible to be pregnant again. But again the struggle begins. 

Unfortunately, Siva only earns 12000 Rs a month and does not have the funds to afford the treatment.

"I have sold my house and jewels. I had a cow and I sold it too. I don't have a single penny left with me. I'm borrowing money even to have our next meal. I have the strength to start everything from scratch, I can earn all that I lost only if I can go back to my place with my baby. Without her, we are nothing, we can't even imagine living without her" says Sivanandam
