Twice Operated 6-month-old Needs Urgent Transplant to Survive

Story
"I still remember how impatient he was to see his little baby. My usually well composed husband kept pacing around in the delivery room much to the amusement of the nurses present! After the pain and tears (from more than one party) when our baby was finally born, I saw something within Vishal transform. He had grown into an overawed father whose world dissolved before his beautiful daughter. It had been a few seconds since she was out in the world and she had already made two of her biggest fans yet.”
Divya, newborn Avya’s mother
Baby Avya was delivered on the 4th of August, 2018 in Delhi. On the day however, the doctors hurriedly ushered baby Avya out of the delivery room, the young parents were confused and grew increasingly fearful. Did this always happen?
When our worst fear came true, I forced myself to be calm. Avya had an intestinal blockage. Her blood platelets were highly unstable. I knew that we had to act instantly - one delay could be the difference between life and death for our newborn baby.
Vishal, baby Avya’s father. Light at the end of the tunnel or an illusion?
Things took a turn for the worse...
The next 6 weeks are the most crucial for her survival.
Baby Avya needs an immediate liver transplant to fight her liver fibrosis. Her mother Divya is a donor match and the only thing in the way of saving Avya’s life now is the Rs. 40 Lakhs for the liver transplant. The family from Delhi has depleted all their last savings as well as taken multiple loans. They have spent over Rs. 25 Lakhs in baby Avya’s stomach operation, NICU care, medication and ongoing tests. Their baby has survived whatever life has thrown her way and they are confident she will continue to do so ahead - but for that she needs a chance from you. She is so tiny but so much is going on within her.
"She is 6 months old now and has seen more hospitals than most adults. Whenever she struggles to breathe she folds and unfolds her fingers into a fist. When she is in pain and she misses her mom, she will do that little thing with her nose while gurgling loudly. Our baby is our life and we will never give up on her. But we need your support too…”
