Remya and two children are waiting to bring back the baby back home. If Aswin doesn't undergo a transplant soon, his survival rate will come down drastically. Without help, this family is now losing hope.
Two young siblings wait for their little brother to come home.
Aswin's siblings, 9-year-old Anaga and 7-year-old Abhinav are waiting to welcome their little brother home. They have hardly seen their brother since he is on and off hospital since birth.  Narayan and Remya have left their two children in the care of their relatives as they are trying to save the life our third child.
Aswin is a one-year-old child who is suffering from a liver condition. He needs an immediate liver transplant to survive. Withing few hours of his birth, doctors realised that Aswin's condition was deteriorating. He was a premature baby which led to him being unstable and developed infections. He was admitted to the hospital for over a month
His parents, Narayan and Remya are struggling to arrange for funds.

A liver transplant will save Aswin
Aswin is undergoing treatment at Aster Hospital, Kochi and needs to undergo the transplant at the earliest.

His mother has come forward to donate a portion of her liver

Remya has volunteered to donate a portion of her liver to save Aswin. She is preparing for the surgery through diet and exercise.

The only thing stopping the family from saving their son is lack of funds.

How you can help

Aswin's parents are seeking urgent help to continue his treatment. It's impossible for Aswin's family to arrange the huge amount required for the transplant. But with our support, they can save their child. Funds raised through the campaign will go towards Aswin's liver transplant expenses. Your contribution will go a long way and save this one-year-old.

Dear supporters,

This is Debotri, a fellow at Milaap. Here is an update on Aswin's health.

In the last update, we heard about his improving health conditions. I spoke to Narayana this morning. "My baby was discharged yesterday. We don't know how to express our happiness. When I had to see my one-year child suffer so much, I had no choice other than praying. But now finally after yesterday, we have a ray of hope", said the father.

Currently, the family is staying in a rented house near the hospital. The child has to be kept under strict observation. He needs to be immediately admitted if the slightest abnormalities come up. The doctor has advised Aswin to come to the hospital for a weekly check up for almost a month only after which he can go back to their hometown.

The parents have thanked each of the donors in the biggest way possible. Thank you for your support and contribution.

Dear supporters,

I am Debotri, a fellow at Milaap.  I have something great to share today.

I called Aswin's father, Narayan, this morning. But unlike previously, things were very difficult. This time it was tears of joy. "Madam, I don't know how to thank each of the donors who supported us each and every moment. My child underwent the liver transplant last week and is doing really great now. There are too many positive changes in him. He has started eating a little bit after so long. We are too happy to see him like this. Touchwood!!", said the father.

Aswin and his mother, Remu, both are still in the ICU. They have recovered a lot. "It feels great to see my baby responding. I have donated my liver to him and if needed I am ready to sacrifice my entire life for him. What can't a mother do to save her son????", said Remu.

Remu will be discharged tomorrow. However, Aswin needs to be in the ICU for another 21 days. He would still require monetary support for his post surgery treatments. Although Anaga and Abhinav wanted to spend few more days with their brother in Kochi, they had no choice since their schools reopened after the summer vacation. And now, they are waiting eagerly to welcome back their small brother at home. "Why can't Aswin come home soon??", said Abhinav.

"Being a farmer, I hardly had any savings. And whatever I had, I have exhausted every bit of it", said Narayan. We wanted to thank the donors in the biggest way possible. Your support and contribution are extremely precious. You gave the family hope when they were absolutely broken.

Please keep Aswin in your prayers. Share his story and help him to fight the battle. We will keep you posted on his progress.
