When we were kids, we were convinced that we had the power to change the world. Then somewhere along the way, we grew up and convinced ourselves that these were just childish dreams.We settled for realism instead of idealism. Traded hope for spreadsheets. Chose to turn away rather than fight.We decided that CHANGE-MAKERS are people other than us. But the truth is quite simple -
EACH ONE OF US DOES HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
What is Project CrossBow?
It is a step towards making India safer and better for women.
Srishti Bakshi, a Champion for Change with the United Nations Empower Women initiative, will be walking 3800 km (2300 miles) from Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu (South India) to Srinagar, Kashmir (North India) to sensitize citizens about violence against women and help them fight it through financial and digital literacy.
I am proud to share with you that I am part of this inspiring movement called Arrow by CrossBow and I’m calling you to be an Arrow for change to combat violence against women.
I am personally associating myself with CrossBow to raise my voice against crimes against women in India. For girls growing up in India, harassment and abuse have been a part of our childhoods. Ask the Indian girls and women you know if they have faced any harassment in any way. The answer will be very clear.
Now more than ever, violence against women is perpetually in the news and the horrors of gang rape, dowry deaths, acid attacks and honour killings should not be ignored any longer. We have endured far too long. Join us and propel urgent change. Please donate! No amount is too small. Together we can!
Our Goal
This September, Srishti Bakshi, our Lead Arrow, on her Modern Day Dandi March, will be walking 3800 km (2300 miles) from Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu (South India) to Srinagar, Kashmir (North India). On this through hike, we hope to collect a total of ONE BILLION STEPS, a sum of daily step contributions by each one of you towards making India a safer country for women.
How will we achieve our Goal?
We know that each one of you strives to give your time and hard earned money to fight for causes you believe in. It’s hard!
What if we told you that your daily steps, clocked into our App will unlock funds by Corporate/Foundation/Philanthropic DONORS to benefit Non-Profits who are working on-ground protecting women and girl-child rights in our country. CrossBow , a mobile app , where you will clock in your daily steps is a mass outreach and engagement platform tailored for cause-driven campaigns.
As the Empower Women Champion for Change 2017, we will be on the road for 260 days, walking from one city to the other. During this walk our team of Arrows will be -
- Conducting Workshops on financial and digital literacy to empower women
- Build an extensive volunteer network of changemakers on-ground who will continue the mission
- Document stories through shooting a documentary feature film.
What do we need from you?
They say it takes a village to make a achieve a task well! We need the changemaker from every corner of the world to succeed here!
