Little People Have Big Dreams- Help Us In Educating Them

Hi there!

Firstly, thanks for your time.

Who?
We are Teach for India 2017 Fellows, Chennai and we have begun our journey as an educator in an orphanage, Anjuman-E-Himayath (T Nagar). Currently, I teach 75 learners of class 2 and 5.

Why?
We, at Teach for India, believe all children, irrespective of their socio-economic status, should have access to the same education and opportunities.
Most of the children from Anjuman are either orphans or destitute and their only gateway for a decent and a better future is through education.
We believe that by equipping the children with the skills and opportunities to be independent learners and proactive change makers, we can help them realize their potential and impact our society as whole.

How?
The funds raised will go towards the following items in the current academic year:

Reading resources: Classroom library with leveled reading books, board games (INR 30,000).
Inquiry based learning resources: To conduct experiments in classroom based on the concepts learnt, special recognition kits (INR 10,000)
Technology resources:  Portable projector, Speakers, Wifi access and Tablets (INR 40,000)
Printing and stationery: Copies of study material, worksheets, assessments, year long stationery materials and activity books (INR 15,000)
External academic opportunities:  Olympiad exams resources and entrance fee (INR 5000)

If you’d like to know more about our classrooms and needs or would like to understand more about our work at Teach for India, please reach out to me at sowmya.l2017@teachforindia.org.

A little contribution can go a long way in making a difference in their lives. I thank you in advance for your support!

With the funds, Anjuman Gamechangers are able to think beyond the scope of textbooks. They are taking up design challenges and trying to be innovators. I will use the additional funds in buying materials that are required for these challenges.
