Support My Students For A Science Exhibition

Sachin, an 8th Grade student of a low income private school in Pune has decided on making a mini - CNC Plotter for the Science Exhibition. He needs an Arduino chip and motors to create it.
While Rinki is planning to make a compass and other models using magnets after studying about Magnetism. Suyog and Shubhangi too are keen on understanding how Rutherford came up with his model for an Atom, while also exploring the conspiracies behind the Bermuda Triangle.

Hey Everyone,

I am Tiasha Banerjee, a Fellow of Teach for India, Pune, teaching 120, 8th Graders in Anjali English Medium School, Pune, trying to make Science and Math interesting subjects to learn and enjoy.

As an Educator I strongly believe that experiential learning leads to better understanding and higher motivation towards education as it is a tangible thing they work for. And to make that happen, I want to, through a Science Exhibition, give them a platform to showcase their talents and abilities. The kids too are very eager on proving that age is no bar when it comes to hard work, creativity and and willpower.

Through this fundraiser I hope to make this a reality by arranging all the materials required and expose them to all the amazing things outside just their books and classrooms.

These funds will provide them with a joyful learning experience and also help in exploring what the world has to offer.

Ask for an update
23rd January 2018

As you all know, I did a community project with my kids in December and also 6 of my kids made a robotic hand while another student, Sachin made his own CNC Plotter.

All of these projects have been great and have been showcased in various exhibits. Sachin has also recently been selected for his CNC Plotter at a National Summit of KER, where 100 kids from around the country are going to be part of the Conference for a week in February. This has been one of the best news to come out of the Fundraiser helping out kids to do what they dream of doing.

Another group of my kids are now going to start on making a new project for which we require funds and we are withdrawing the funds raised.

Thank you all for supporting the initiative.

Hello Everyone,

As I had updated earlier that a group of kids are working towards 'Being a Santa" for a community close by to their school.

On Saturday, last week, the kids visited the community and surveyed the kids there. They got to see the conditions they were living in and the school they study at. Through the survey they realised that a lot of the kids of the community do not know how to read or write in their own mother tongue, let alone Hindi or English.

We have so decided to get drawing and colouring books, toys, craft and other such items for them instead so it would make more sense. We have also received a donation of 100 Notebooks that we can give the kids along with the other things we plan to give.

Your donation would help in getting some of the materials required to finalise these things and ,move ahead with the plan.

Again, thanks a lot for all your support and kindness shown by each and every one of you.

Hello Everyone,

I have lots of exciting updates for you all. Three student groups from my school have taken up very different projects for the exhibition and I am very proud to share them with you.

One of the group's is making a Gesture Control Robot and aim to use the hand glove robot to clean their classes. The other group has decided to show the functioning of a dam and how low and high pressure is works.

Another exciting project is of 5 kids trying to create a 'Merry Christmas' for around 100 kids in a community by arranging a books, games and clothing donation camp. They are also making bookmarks and greeting cards using handmade paper that they have just started making as a recycling project.

All of these updates and the projects has been possible only and only with your support. I am grateful to each one of you. Please help me spread the message and get as much as we can. Only a few more days remaining.
