Save Lives of 5000 Daily-Wage Earners From Air-Pollution In Delhi-NCR
Concern:
The capital city of India- Delhi is inhabited by 22 Million people. The air quality of the capital has hit an all time low and is a threat to its residents. The city recorded Air-Quality Index (AQI) of 999- the equivalent of smoking 45 cigarettes a day (moderate AQI is 51-100). 999 is the maximum recording capacity which means actual level might be even higher. Civic authorities have issued warning comparing the situation in Delhi with that of ‘Gas Chamber’.

According to a report by WHO, in 2012 around 7 million people died: 1 in 8 of total global deaths: as a result of air-pollution exposure. This is expected to be the highest in Delhi, as at the moment it is the most polluted city in the world.
The Government of Delhi has issued a statement advising people to stay indoors. Schools have been shut and immediate steps are taken to control the air-pollution level. Doctors have recommended to wear anti-pollution masks at all time.

The worst hit by this situation are poor, under-privileged and laborers, who spend most of their time on streets to earn their livelihood. Unfortunately, they can't afford the only precaution (i.e. the anti-pollution mask) with their limited resources.
