Help 2-Year-Old Aindrila To Complete Her Crucial Treatment

2-Year-old Aindrilla was diagnosed with a blood disease when she was just 10 months old. This little toddler has suffered more than we could imagine, painful blood transfusions, a bone marrow transplant. Even after all this, this little one is not out of her misery. She is not yet recovered but is on the verge of missing the crucial treatment because her helpless parents have been left with no money.

Accountant Father Seeks Help To Save 2-Year-Old Daughter

My name is Rintu and I  work as an accountant in a private company in Mumbai. My parents are farmers and it was after much hardwork that I got this job. My wife, Subharani is a homemaker. My income was enough for us to lead a normal, happy life and with the birth of our daughter, our lives were complete.

When my daughter Aindrila was 10 months old, she developed fever, it kept recurring that we thought we will lose her. After several tests, it was found that out little daughter had thalassemia, a blood disease. The only solution is a blood transfusion. She is 2 years old now and it was regula blood transfusions that kept her alive. But she grew we knew that blood transfusions were only a temporary solution and had its share of complications.

Parents Travelled Mumbai to Bengaluru To Save Their Daughter

I started searching for the hospital with treatment for my daughter and with lot of efforts ,came to Narayana Hrudayalaya in Bengaluru.

I didn't know that a permanent solution will be so expensive that our lives will be changed forever. I took loans from banks, friends and colleagues, hoping to see my daughter recover from this disease. We found a fully matched donor. We spent over 12 lakhs for the treatment so far but she has a long way to before coming out of hospital fully recovered. Doctors told us that post-transplant care is more crucial than the transplant.

This 2-Year-Old's Crucial Treatment Is At Stake

We have nothing left to pay for the treatment. We are scared every day that we will not able to manage the next day's treatment. I cannot take my weak daughter who just finished her transplant out of the life. It will put her life in danger. She has to continue her treatment by any chance.

Your Support Will Save My Daughter

It has been 20 days since she underwent the transplant, but still we don't know the progress. Her blood counts are increasing but we cannot be completely sure that she is recovering. Each day, the expenses are shooting up. I will not be allowed to take another loan and my last option is to seek your help. Aindrila needs to continue this crucial treatment otherwise everything will go in vain. Your support will save my daughter.

Dear Supporters,

I am Sudhakar, a Milaap Open fellow in Bengaluru. I spoke to Aindrila’s father, Rintu, on 1st September 2016. They have rented a house near the hospital temporarily till Aindrila’s  admitted in Narayana Hrudayalaya.

The bone marrow transplant was carried out in the month of June 2016 successfully. Rintu  says, “The bone marrow donor was chosen from Datri Blood Stem Cells Donors Registry. Doctors suspect that because the donor for the Bone Marrow Transplant was not a relative, certain complications might arise.”

Aindrila has been suffering from a viral fever and infection for the last 10 days. A chemotherapy session is currently in progress to get rid of the ECG virus, the count of which had increased because Aindrila’s immunity is poor.

The course of the post transplant care will be decided by the doctors once she recovers from the fever and based on the blood test results then. She has been undergoing blood tests weekly. The results were positive overall before the fever hit her in August. Each blood test costs about  Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000, and the expenses have risen further because of the fever.

Please help us spread the word so that we are able to reach the campaign target as soon as possible. Let’s pray for Aindrila’s good health so that she recovers at the earliest.
