WHO?
Hello, I am AFSAL Mohammed B, Third year Mechanical Production student at TKM College of Engineering. I am presently doing my Online Volunteering for United Nations Volunteers India and also working as the Joint General Secretary of Kerala Forum on United Nations Academic Impact (KFUNAI). Volunteering is my passion, I am an active volunteer of National Service Scheme and United Nations Academic Impact of TKM College of Engineering. Now I had created my own platform to do social work - The Gulmohar Foundation, which focus on Youth Empowerment and NGO Incubation.
WHAT?
Getting selected in Jagriti Yatra is a dream come true as only a few hundreds out of tens of thousands are selected. Jagriti Yatra is a 8000 kilometer, 15-day train journey across the length and breadths of the country. One meets village-level entrepreneurs who have created a noticeable impact, discusses and interacts with mentors from cross culture and domain with a team to come up with feasible solution combining ideas and practicality. Getting aware of the social problems of the country and working towards to not only meet the people solving them, but also giving a hand towards problem-solving is a huge change that Jagriti Yatra offers to today's youth. Many Yatri's have become entrepreneurs in the village and are working to solve on ground issues. Many have said Jagriti Yatra as 'life-changing experience' and I am lucky and humbled to have been selected in it.
