My Son, Adithya Kamath (16 year old- Currently on Medical Sabbatical from pursuing his 11th Std in MGM College, Udupi) was admitted into Kasturba Hospital (Manipal) on 16th Feb, after he complained of severe stomach ache and vomiting. The Doctors suggested to shift him to Manipal Hospital,  Airport Road, Bangalore for further diagnosis as severe Jaundice / lever damage was suspected.

The Doctors here in Bangalore informed us that Adithya's Liver was severely damaged and the only option was Liver Transplant. We went ahead with the Live Liver Transplant procedure with me (Dad - Vivekanand Kamath)  being the liver donor.

The operation was conducted successfully by able Doctors on 19th Feb and both of us are recovering normally.

The total cost of the procedure is expected to be INR 22,00,000/- and monthly expense of INR 85,000/- for atleast next One year for medicines & lab tests.

We hail from a middle class family, I am a teacher by Profession and I would be out of work for next couple of months as result of being a Live Liver Donor. Hence we are forced to borrow to pay for the procedure. So any financial assistance from your end will be highly appreciated in meeting with medical expenses of Adithya.
