My name is Chandran Kumar, I have done B.Tech in EE from NIT Hamirpur (H.P.) and PGDM from IIM Calcutta. I, along with a team of professionals from diverse fields is building a NOT-FOR-PROFIT blood donor website and APPs for Android and IOS platforms to help those who need blood during emergency situations.

Idea & Passion: Over past few years we have seen rapid technological advancements in many areas including healthcare & e-commerce. In recent years, there has been funding by investors in tune of multi crores of rupees in all areas but sadly, none of them have been in the area of blood donation. India has shortage of more than 11,00,000 units of blood annually. Not much has changed in past decade for the blood donor websites. Almost every website out there is limited to just searching blood donors and contacting donors using mobile numbers. When the contact number changes, the donor is no longer reachable as there is no option for donor to update the data by himself on the website. Many donors are reluctant to share their phone numbers or email ids publicly. We want to solve this problem by including features like the the ability to connect users without sharing their contact number or email by using inbuilt chat, audio, video chat functionality. The file sharing feature will also be included so that you can ask the donor for relevant documents like PAN card, passport before meeting them in person. This will act as another layer of safety in case you want to verify the credentials of the blood donor / receiver before meeting them in person.

Our app and website will be much more advanced than other similar apps and will have features like audio call, video call, GPS tagging etc. Most importantly it will be constantly monitored to weed out any outdated data. Our plan is to make the service up-time guarantee of 99.99% to make the app and website very reliable. For this we need funding to hire good programmers for coding, to lease a reliable server and to pay for the support team.

We also plan to develop the iOS app if we are able to raise the required amount to cover the cost of coding and server hosting.

The total cost of developing the entire project including 1 year of dedicated hosting and salary to customer support team comes out to Rs. 32,00,000. A company called Silver Bee Group has agreed to fund 50% of the project cost (Rs. 16,00,000) and also contribute their technical & IT expertise to develop this entire project. We seek your kind help in raising the balance amount of approx Rs 15,00,000 - Rs. 16,00,000. Our aim is that there should be no deaths due to shortage of blood in the country.

The blood banks can store blood only for about 6 weeks and after that it has to be discarded. So, the only option is to connect blood donors and blood recipients in real-time by utilizing the power of technology.  No amount is small, even if you donate Rs. 100, it will go a long way in saving someone's life.

As soon, as the crowdfunded amount touches INR 10,80,000 we will have the amount required to complete the below tasks of the Android APP:
