I am very thankful for all my dear ones for their prayers for me which is keeping me ON in life.

I would like to share my story with you all, I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in Jan 2015 and shaken up with this finding but I took the challenge to fight it with the support of you all. After taking all the radiology, chemotherapy followed by a major surgery done to bypass my natural system and induct an artificial one in place of it.

I joined my work post the surgery, everything seems to have worked for me for a few years. I was recovering gradually and getting back on track to living my normal life, till the time in Jan 2018 I went for normal following up @ Tata Memorial (TM), Mumbai. I got my CT Scan done in which I got to know of relapse of this disease which made me stunned. I was astonished to know that it had relapsed in the lungs this time and it is spreading to other body parts as well.

I am being told by TM’s doctors that there is no curative treatment available for this and the only Chemo can be helpful as palliative treatment. I started taking the Chemo cycles from Feb 2018 and after taking 6 cycles of it I got the CT Scan done again but this time it was more heart breaking as the results discovered 3 more tumours in Liver this time.

Doctors recommended me 6 more cycles of Chemo with a newer and costlier drug which is costing me around 2 lakhs per cycle. If this drug would not work on me, there is a chemo 3rd line then 4th line and so on… but this will keep going to prevent cancer from spreading in the body.
Chemo is a pain and it shreds your body from inside that you feel not being alive. I am vivacious in my life and would not like to end it by taking all the drugs and pains.

My last hope is IMMUNO therapy which is not available in India yet but in trials in the US, the treatment is CURATIVE in nature but a costly affair.
