Monsoon rains that have battered Kerala claimed 13 more lives on Sunday raising the total death toll to 370. As rains subsided in most of the state after two weeks of non-stop downpour, the government will now shift their focus to providing help to the displaced population.
Addressing the media on Sunday evening, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the rescue efforts had reached the final phase and most of those stranded had been evacuated.
We need to raise money to buy and deliver immediate items like medicines, sanitary napkins, diapers, food supplies.
We are also trying to raise funds so that we can help provide the various relief camps with basic neccessities for those affected and staying there.
Any help and contribution is appreciated as it will make a big difference in their lives.
