Hello Everyone,
I am Aaryan and I’m currently in high school and inculcate an immense will to serve the people of my nation and do something for the welfare of the society.
Every day, by some or the other way, we waste food without realizing how many people are yearning for those small bites of food. We do not give much importance to this issue, but it does affect the lives of many. So, that is the reason I want to highlight the widespread issue of “HUNGER”.
A child dies from hunger every 10 seconds. Poor nutrition and hunger are responsible for the death of 3.1 million children a year. That’s nearly half of all deaths in children under the age of 5. The children die because their bodies lack basic nutrients. Globally, 822 million people suffer from undernourishment. Some sources estimate that 1 in 9 people go to bed hungry every day. The loss of human life is as great as if an atomic bomb - like the one that destroyed Hiroshima during the Second World War - were to be dropped on a densely populated area every three days. We are progressing but in a negative way, this number keeps growing every year instead of coming down. This is a sign of great threat to the lives of poor.
Every effort counts! I want to help the poor people who suffers due to hunger each day by providing them with a basic meal whenever I can. I can celebrate my special occasions with these people by distributing food to them and most importantly, spreading awareness among the people and raising my voice whenever I see anyone wasting food.
I want others to join their hands in this noble cause by providing the extra food to the needy rather wasting it or throwing it in a bin.  I want that the school faculties and teacher should start instructing students the priceless value of food so that they can understand its importance and reduce its wastage which can eventually reduce the hunger-rates. You can give some money to your local food bank so that the respective volunteers can feed a greater number of people. Today’s world is changing and developing more because of the technology and the internet so why not we take the help of internet, social media. We can make some noise regarding this issue on various social media platform to attract more and more people at once. This saves our time as well as gives us the hold of a greater number of citizens.
And remember that even a small step of yours can slowly and gradually lead to a great and a positive change in the world and people around us.
