Dear Supporters,

We are a group of five working professionals from IT/ITES companies, passionate about Yoga and we teach Yoga across Bangalore. I, Amaresh Babu, was born and brought up in Yeldur, a small village near Kolar District, Karnataka. My village has a primary government school, a government high school and an aided school. Though text book education is reasonably good in these schools, majority of kids lack quality education and are unable to compete with city schools in terms of basic computer and English language skills.

My thought of helping village kids with lower economical background and provide them with quality education, especially basic computer skills, was encouraged by my close friends. At present, we have managed to collect five used personal computers.

We have registered a trust by the name of ‘Village Kids India’; registered office Yeldur village, Kolar District, Karnataka, India.

We are a start-up trust, working to assist in computer-aided learning since computer is considered a major tool to bring innovation in kids. We teach computer basics which will help in opening up a world of opportunities for the kids.

We also focus on teaching English language along with basic computer education.

We all live in Bangalore and this computer education campaign would need a steady support. Running cost is estimated as followed:

Approximately, we need Rs.10,000 ($165) per month.

To run this free computer education project successfully for another 3 years, we estimate total expenditure of around Rs. 360,000 ($6000).

We recently celebrated International Yoga Day in this village school and with the help of few friends; we were able to distribute 400 notebooks to the poor students. check photos here.
