Subhashis Das is an independent researcher on megaliths of India for about two decades. Early in   the late 90s he quit is fat salaried job to research on these old relics of the tribal of India. 

All these years he has researched investing his own money by doing odd jobs without any assistance from the government although he has been invited several times to lecture on his research in many government archaeological functions.

He has extensively traveled across the country and had mixed with the villagers and has documented their lores and in the process discovered numerous megalithic burials.

He also discovered that many ancient megaliths across the country were built thousands of years ago by the ancients with their knowledge of astronomy and mathematics. 

In May 2015 he was featured in the programme EXPLORE JHARKHAND in the National Geographic where he explained how the prehistoric megaliths of Punkri Burwadih near Hazaribagh in Jharkhand thousands of years ago were built by the ancient tribals with their understanding of astronomy and mathematics.

He has authored two books on his discoveries and research, which are: SACRED STONES IN INDIAN CIVILIZATION and UNKNOWN CIVILIZATION OF PREHISTORIC INDIA. His next book THE ARCHAEOASTRONOMY OF A FEW MEGALITHIC TEMPLES OF JHARKHAND is slated to be released by 2018. He also runs the only website on megaliths of India which is www.megalithindia.in

In 2013 during another film shoot he accidentally discovered the echo in the megaliths of Punkri Burwadih near Hazaribagh of Jharkhand.

In several megaliths across the world echo/reverberation was created by the ancient shamans/priests to use it for their rituals. To find echo in the very ancient Punkri Burwadih megaliths was something huge as acoustics in megaliths were till now not discovered nor reported from anywhere in India. 

 His discovery was assisted by the Physics Department of the Vinoba Bhabey University of Hazaribagh as the professors themselves were surprised to hear the echo in the megalithic site. Das has yet not presented any paper in India on the acoustics in the megaliths as this concept is absolutely unknown in India.

An International Seminar on acoustics in the ancient sites of the world called ARCHAEOACOUSTICS III is going to be held from 5 to 8 Oct 2017 in Tomar in Portugal. Das desires to disclose his discovery to the world by reading his paper in this prestigious world platform of Archaeoacoustics III in Portugal.

For this he requires about Rs 1, 50,000 to cover his entire expense by at least May 2017.
