Until an enemy evolved from within, Shafi led a happy life as a committed son, husband and father. As a government employee in the state of Telangana, India, he leads a decent and modest life.
It is easy for us to cut down on our discretionary expenses and redirect that amount towards his liver transplantation that is scheduled to be in early November, 2017. We may have another chance to earn back this amount, but Shafi has only one chance to live. The transplantation is unavoidable.
The enemy within is too big and he is at the cross-roads of life and death to pay in monetary terms for his right to live. We can enable him to live if we stand by him to defeat this enemy, the disease.
Shafi was my classmate in school and I appeal to all people who have a good sense of consciousness, morale and compassion to contribute. We can move him lifeward, rather than leaving the liver disease to take him deathward.
Save Shafi. A little act of compassion can give two little children their father, a wife her husband, and a mother her son.
