Desk A Child
Slum children are educated within their premises, by opening a hired space, where they are schooled with basic facilities, we are in need of benches for children betterment. As it is an individual project, we are in need of your support in educating these children in a better way.
Myself Rita George, B.ed & Social worker from tata institute from the slum to the slum, wants to educate them according to their need and understanding capability as they find difficulties in the mainstream of society.
Currently, 96 children (65 Pre-primary and 31 remedial) are studying in our school in 2 section.We are in need of 15 benches for writing, reading and for better postures.Each bench cost rs 4500.00(Iron frame and wooden). Hence the total budget for 15 benches cost value is 4500*15=67500.00.

Dear Supporters,
I am Radhika Aggarwal, a Fellow with Milaap. I have a great news to share with you all. Your contribution has lifted the spirits of a bundle of tender hearts.
I recently spoke to Rita George, the principal of Alpha English School. “With the money raised on Milaap,” she happily informs, “we managed to buy second hand benches for our children studying. We currently have two classrooms with benches, accommodating 65 children in total.”
“During the time when we had no benches, children would slouch while writing. Some would even fall asleep. Their hunched back posture became a concern for us. However, after the benches were placed, it was a delightful moment for all the children. They no longer had to remove their footwear outside the classroom. More than the kids, their parents were the first ones to express happiness. Even parent-teacher meetings can be carried out with ease.”

Madam Rita sincerely thanked each one of you for the love and support that you have shown for the kids. She has opened another branch in Dharavi, Mumbai for nursery kids where the children currently sit on the floor and study. She is in need of benches for the new school. I am sure we can all help her. It will be great if you can share this campaign in your circle of friends and family. Even a small contribution will make a huge difference!

I heartly thank you the people who had support us till now, we have paid this money as a token amount for making benches, but we have to go a long way, kindly support us by seeing our real cause for the little kids. Your supports will one day make our child to sit on benches. Even our teachers will find comfortable to train and modify them with a quality education. Kindly promote our need to your friends and well wishers, who will be willingly support the slum kids of Dharavi, Matunga labour camp
