KRISHI NGO - SEE2READ Programme is a flagship program to safeguard the vision of school going poor children (minimum of 1,000) of 5 years through 15 years located in rural areas. According to educational experts, 80% of learning is visual. So if a child can’t see well, he can’t learn well. As per the statistics in India, it is found that 22% of children (1 out of 5) are suffering with sight related problems during their schooling. It may be because of nutrition, poor lighting, access to CRT TV's and or smart gadgets.  We mobilize the doctors and necessary computerized eye-testing equipment to the rural schools and have them screened thoroughly to detect eye-sight. We also provide spectacles to the children detected with eye-sight at free of cost.

As we learnt that, most young children don’t get their vision screened until they have problems learning or paying attention in schools. By then, it may already be too late. Unless vision problems are detected early and corrected, they risk becoming permanent before they complete their schooling itself.

Krishi NGO screens poor children in rural areas with a district wide network eye-specialist doctors, that brings together our See2Read program a great success.  Since the problem in rural areas is an ignorant and un-attended problem, the risk of compromising on their studies and school drop-outs are the visible consequences.

Our mission is to ensure eye screening and follow-up care is given to all kids because every child deserves to learn and see the world clearly. To do this, we will work with doctors at nearest town or cities, to increase the number of screening programs in rural villages in order to reach more children when it is possible and where it is needed. We also provide spectacles at free of cost for the children found with sight related problems.

Krishi NGO (regn.No.200/2005) has been serving underprivileged rural communities through wide range of programmes since 2005, founded and managed by technocrats with the network of friends and volunteers.

News coverage of our programme conducted in Feb 2017 in a govt school in Warangal Rural District, Telangana State.
