The Problem:
India's second wave has wreaked havoc in the nation with almost everyone losing a loved one or someone familiar. The loss runs so deep that this crisis has been likened to a war.
And just like in a war, children suffer in ways that we cannot imagine. It has a generational impact. The trauma they go through watching the world around them spin out of control, losing their loved ones, the anxiety of what their future holds – can be crippling.
So, imagine the state of vulnerable children who do not have families, who rely on institutions like children’s homes to protect and keep them safe. The stability of these institutions determines their ability to double-down and protect their children when they need it the most. It is also a time when more children who lose their parents or family to the crisis need an alternative support system (at least temporarily).

Impact on Children’s Homes:
A rapid assessment conducted by Guardians of Dreams in 3 districts revealed that 13% of children’s homes have a health scare or a financial crisis and another 28% of homes could be in a similar crisis if no support is offered in the coming weeks. That is a whopping 41% of children’s homes that are reeling under the pressure and who need our support to adequately care and protect their children.

Guardians of Dreams is setting up a Child Care Relief Fund for children’s homes that will provide
1. Preventive Health Care kit which includes oximeter, thermometer and other first aid items to homes that are at a risk of exposure.
2. Support with testing and isolating where children or staff show symptoms or are at risk of exposure.
3. Financial Aid to cover essential requirements of homes that have seen more than an 80% dip in their monthly donations.
Our Appeal:
Vulnerable children depend entirely on the generosity of the community they live in. Please do contribute to the Guardians Child Care Relief Fund and help protect the lives of our most vulnerable children.
100% of contributions will go directly into emergency support of Children's Homes.
