Teach for India -

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in schools being shut across the country and the world. This unprecedented, global crisis means that more than 85% of all students—1.4 billion young people globally—are out of school. The crisis brought alive the equity gap even further. Our children from under-resourced and from marginalized communities are the most affected. We need to ensure our children and families get immediate relief - food and basic supplies - and that they don’t stop learning.

Over the last week, Teach For India Fellows' begun identifying the needs of our 32,000 students across 7 cities. This exercise highlighted a set of critical and urgent needs. To ensure that our students and their families have sufficient food, water, shelter and medical assistance, Teach For India is making an appeal to you to participate in our relief efforts.

We are coordinating relief operations through the people best equipped to provide them - vetted organisations, NGOs, and our Fellows and Alumni - to ensure we get the most critical and urgent needs of our students and their families met over the next few weeks. These funds will be utilised, on the ground, to help make available a variety of immediate resources for communities in need.

Manchester United Supporters Club Mumbai -
We are India's first official Man United SC, and one of the biggest in the world. Seeing the great work that TFI do, we have been regular donors to TFI schools, sponsoring any one school/team's football equipments and other coaching expenses every year.

Amidst the current global crisis, Manchester United Foundation have pledged 500 GBP to a local/national charity of our choice, that's working with children and youth, and will further match up to 500 GBP of what we manage to raise. Seeing the work TFI has been undertaking to deliver necessities to families that have limited access to it, we have nominated this effort from our end to the club.

We hope to together, with the club, TFI, and our members, contribute to this cause, and help easing the pain of several underprivileged families in these troubled times.
