WHY ARE WE RAISING FUNDS?

This Fundraiser is for Amar Sutrave (45 years) – he is a loving husband and an amazing human being. Amar and his wife Sharmistha, stay in Badlapur and they run a food stall in Santacruz.

Amar has been diagnosed with a degenerative heart disorder, that needs urgent treatment! On 8th May, he complained of breathlessness and was rushed to Dhanwantari Hospital in Badlapur. But he was soon shifted to Fortis Hospital in Vashi on 9th May – because his condition needed special care, which wasn’t available in Badlapur. His pulse was down to 44 (ideal pulse rate = 75)

Immediately, they worked up an angiography which showed that he had 85% blockages in his heart. He was rushed to emergency and a cardiologist was called in to place a temporary pacemaker. This was to assist him with his pulse rate. The temporary pacemaker is now replaced with a permanent pacemaker. And in the next 10 days, he will undergo an angioplasty surgery where stents will be placed to help him clear the blockages in his heart.

HOW MUCH FUNDING DO WE NEED?
We propose to raise Rs. 9 Lakhs to support Amar, as per the following break up:

  • Actual expenses of hospital stay in ICU, investigative reports, medicines and surgical procedures: The initial procedures of inserting a Pacemaker, and the future surgery for angioplasty – along with other expenses at the hospital – round up to Rs 6.5 lakhs
  • After Care - Follow Up tests, Doctor Visits, Medications: Rs. 2.5 lakhs approximately.
Hence, we propose to raise 9 lakh rupees to support the actual hospital expenses and follow-up treatment.

With Amar & his wife running their house on their earnings from the shop (which is roughly about 25,000 per month); and they also have ailing parents to take care of - the medical expenses are definitely going to be tough on them. And we want to make sure that they are well taken care of in a time like this.

Please help us raise funds for Amar, at the earliest. He will be discharged on Sunday and we will need the funds to close the billing at the hospital.
