Sophie Memorial Animal Relief Trust: A sanctuary for old and disabled dogs.

We are a special needs rescue that focuses on old and dogs with all kinds of disabilities. Old and disabled dogs face a brutal and tough life on our streets. We plan to make a forever home where these voiceless can spend their life happily. Only you can help us do it!

From neurological issues and spinal injuries to paralysis and mobility issues, we rescue and shelter them all. Dogs who come to us are evaluated by specialists and started on whatever therapy is needed, be it hydrotherapy, acupuncture or good old fashioned physical therapy to help them recover. Even the worst of the cases are given a second chance at a happy, healthy life! These dogs may be broken in body, but not in spirit and they all deserve as much chance to live a happy and abundant life as us.

We had been trying to make a forever home for these Special Dogs and were focused on finding a land most suitable for building a forever home for Dogs with Disabilities. We were limited by either very expensive land, resources or the climate being too cold, too hot or too humid. And our prayers were answered when a local Real Estate Dealer offered us 4 Bighas to build the Sanctuary.
Currently, we rent the place where these special dogs reside and face problems of being flooded, or being bitten by poisonous reptiles. This campaign is a first step towards building the forever home for special needs dogs. We will begin by fencing the land. Once fencing is complete construction of Eco Kennels will be started.

SMART Furries & Team Sophie wishes you and your loved ones good health. Please stay safe during COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis.

This is an extreme time of crisis for humans as well as the voiceless animals. While us humans are struggling with this ravaging virus, our animals on the streets are hungry, thirsty and scared due to no food or water available during this nationwide lockdown.

Pets are being abandoned or left alone once their Family goes into COVID Isolation. Our team rescued one such Senior Labrador Jenny, whose entire family was COVID Positive and no one wanted to keep her. She is safe and healthy living at our house.

Our team rescued yet another pet GSD whose owner locked him in the balcony and fled to his home town! The poor dog was locked hungry thirsty for 20 days!

We have also been feeding cows all over the district who don't have access to any vegetable waste as lockdown ensues the country.

We are also feeding hundreds of dogs daily in Greater Noida, Noida and surrounding areas as they are on the brink of starvation. There is zero food on streets, zero leftovers. We are ensuring that we feed as many animals as possible each day and we need your help with it. Please keep a bowl of food and water outside your homes every day. Throw grains on your roofs and gardens so that birds can have enough to eat. Let's all become each others strength during these toughest of times.

We will need to increase our Campaign's goal to add a home for Pets abandoned or left alone during this COVID Crisis. We will also need your continuous support to ensure that we feed hungry animals every day.

The withdrawls we are making today is for last months expenses and staff salaries for this month. Due to ongoing lockdown we have not been able to get few bills, however we have ensured to add proper invoice/payment screenshots for transparency.

Total Billable Expenses- INR 325895
Total Amount Needed- INR 500000

The surplus funds are required to buy dog food. We need 100 kgs of dry food daily other than daliya, milk and rice.

Please stay connected with us via www.facebook.com/smartsanctuary. We upload our feeding, rescue videos there regularly.

Dearest Benefactors,

I believe that healing starts with just a tiny spark, a glimmer of hope in soft, soulful eyes :)

And for disabled furries with serious injuries who come to SMART Sanctuary, the chance, the hope, and the healing are all because of all of you.

Thank you so very much for your donations to the residents of Sophie Memorial Animal Relief Trust. Our OPD is complete and so are the residing areas. All our rescues have a roof and their own separate open big enclosures, thanks to you. As of today, we have 96 residents including 7 disabled pups.

Your kind contributions are already creating miracle recoveries for the special needs residents of SMART. You're helping give these beautiful voiceless the time and attention they need to heal, with best diagnostic tests and vaccinations, lifesaving surgeries, gentle rehabilitation therapies and more.

Golu, paralyzed, crushed under a car. In therapy.

Our disabled pups with their human friend

The funds we are withdrawing today are for pending vet bills, food bills, staff salaries, construction materials and Labour payment. The next target as promised earlier is to build a recovery unit for sick and injured community dogs of Greater Noida. Please share the word, tell your friends to pitch in, volunteer and help me save more voiceless.

After the completion of Disabled and Old Dogs Unit, I want to make another unit for the dogs of Greater Noida who are not disabled but are grievously injured or sick. I am certain that you all will support me and help me save more lives.
