Last year's Christmas turned tragic for my family. My mother (Mrs Alka Sachan) was visiting my cousin in Mumbai who is hospitalized since October 2016 for a rare disease Meningitis TB. My cousins along with my mother and uncle wanted to pray for her good health. On December 25 of last year enroute to Shirdi their car met with an accident near Sinnerghat Nasik. In the accident my cousin brother Shridhar Sachan succumbed to his injuries on the spot while my uncle had multiple fractures. My Mother suffered serious injuries to her head and has been in coma since then.
She had multiple blood clots in her brain. The doctors took out as much of the clots(Decompressive craniectomy) as they could without impacting her brain too much. For this they took out a part of the right side of her skull. She will need to undergo one more surgery for her skull when she recovers. Her left body is in a state of paralysis and she has been in coma ever since. Her condition is improving at a very slow rate and it might take her up to 6 months to completely recover.
She is a very caring lady who is loved among our friends and family. My cousin sister's condition left her concerned and so she came to Mumbai on December 11 to stay with her for some time. I admire her for all the resilience and courage she shows at times like these. We value her so much and have been trying our best to provide proper care for her.
She is in ICU ward 217 of Terna Shahyadri Hospital Nerul West since Dec 25 and her daily expenses are around 35-45000. According to Dr recovery of my mother would be very slow and gradual and she will be required to stay in hospital for longer period. Her medical expenses are mounting day by day which we are finding very difficult to afford. We are a lower middle class family. My father works with a private firm and has limited resources.
I request everyone to extend what ever possible financial assistance to help us at this difficult time. Your support during this extremely tough time is appreciated so much. All donations will be used in the hope of giving her the best possible future, and the greatest chance of recovery.
