Andrew a 22 year old young chap joined Accenture a year back with loads of dreams and aspirations. He was budding to be a efficient, hardworking, successful ABAPer. It was just a week after he had donated blood for one of his colleague and his roommate falling sick of dengue, Andrew also fell ill. He went to his hometown Thanjavur since he was not able to manage in his PG with his illness. There was a steep decrease in his blood platelets and he was wrongly treated for Dengue for a week. All his dreams and hope of returning to office soon shattered when he was diagnosed to be suffering from Acute Leukemia or what we call Blood Cancer at CMC Vellore. Andrew is currently undergoing treatment for Blood cancer at CMC Vellore. The whole treatment costs Rs.22 lakhs for the whole course including the hospital charges, doctor fees and the medical charges. Being a middle class family the cost of saving Andrew's life is a hard struggle for the family. Currently Andrew is also diagnosed with Lung infections which has increased the medical expenses even further.
