Why am I fundraising?

In 2015, we started a small after-school learning center, a space in the community for our former students at CB Road, Korukkupet, in North Chennai. These are children who we taught at a local govt school, as a part of our Teach for India fellowship. We wanted to extend our support beyond the 2 year fellowship, and so it began. 

The learning center help these students during after-school hours - learning and play.

• access to books/library

• activities for building literacy skills

• exposure to art, music, dance, films to build life skills, values and spread a little joy.

• field trips

We currently work with a small group of children, two 4th grade classrooms. We hope to support them through middle school and high school.

What do I plan to do with the funds?

The funds go towards operational expenses for the next 6 months - rent, electricity, water, snacks, stationary, supplies, transportation, field trips.
