Mr. Narendra Prasad – Ex Principal of DAV Institution, is struggling for life since last 25 days and requires support to help him battle his health conditions.

Prasad Sir, as we call him, has been admitted in Artemis Hospital since 11 August 2016. He has been fighting for his life since last one month. It has been a tough fight, but he refuses to surrender and this has raised hope in minds of all  family members, well-wishers and doctors.

He was first identified having CKD (chronic Kidney disease) of stage V and was put on regular dialysis two to three days in week. During that  process, his health got deteriorated and organs started getting effected. He developed lung infection and breathlessness (shortening of breath). Another complication - a  blockage was identified and stent was inserted in his heart, this enabled a new lease of life for him. Dialysis continues two times a week and his health has been deteriorating. Lot of amount has been spent on whole treatment.

Suddenly, on 11th of August 2016, Prasad Sir became unconscious and fell down. He was rushed to the hospital. The parameters showed variation in blood pressure and sugar and doctors diagnosed silent neurological seizure. As a result of this, later on, a blood clot was diagnosed in the brain.  This was another setback and doctors put him on ventilator.

His condition started deteriorating due to brain compression which prompted doctors to undergo brain surgery but warned of great risk during surgery due to multiple organs infection.
The surgery was successful and clot was removed but he could not regain consciousness and was put on ventilator. Later the ventilator was removed and Tracheostomy was done.

After few days, a ray of hope was seen when he opened eyes and moved his hand but he soon stopped recognising anybody and moved on to a  state of unconsciousness. With several operations he is in great pain but unable to express due to his condition.

In the entire treatment process so far, Prasad Sir's family has left no stone unturned to keep his fight alive, but currently they are financially strained. The family has now moved him to a smaller nursing home owing to financial constraints. The costs of medicines, medical services, doctor visits, room rent still continue to bog them. Though he has been shifted to a smaller hospital, the cost of medicines, medical services, doctor visit, room rent are now beyond the ambit of his  family.

With multiple ailments and surgeries, Prasad Sir needs regular nursing, medicines and other equipment support to get out of this critical situation. The family's financial constraints should not hinder his recovery and they require all the support to bring him back to normal. Sir's sons have collectively spent 15 lakhs on his treatment so far, and are looking for aid of another 6 lakhs to sustain his hospital expenses.

We, the ex students of DAV Public School, Jhinkpani (one of the many schools he has served), request institutions as well as individuals to support this fight for life of Prasad Sir. We solicit support of any amount as monetary help to reach the target amount of Rs 6 lakhs.

As a teacher who has helped us become what we are today,  this is possibly one of the few ways to show our gratitude to Prasad Sir.
