Why Am I Fundraising?

56-year-old Padma, our nanny who takes care of my 2-year-old son, Yohaan, while my husband, Davis, and I are at work has been diagnosed with Stage II-B cervical cancer. The Cancer has spread to her uterus, ovaries and her lymph nodes (near the pelvis area). Fortunately, there is still hope since her cancer has been diagnosed relatively early.

Need For Funds

Unfortunately, Padma cannot afford treatment. Padma is an incredibly loving and caring person who has a warm smile for everybody. She has brought joy to many people's lives and she needs your help and support now. Padma has worked hard to make ends meet, having been the only earning member of her family for the longest time. She has three children, two sons and a daughter. The younger son helps support the family along with Padma while the other son and daughter are currently unemployed. Her husband is an alcoholic who is unemployed too.

How You Can Help

We are setting a target of Rs. 10 lakhs for her treatment. This is after lobbying for a needs-based grant from the hospital. Through a word-of-mouth campaign, I have successfully raised Rs. 1,45,000 so far from friends & family. My brother, Sachin has started a similar campaign through 'Give Forward' for people outside India. He has collected $300 so far (i.e. Rs 20,000 approx.).

We need your support to raise the remaining target amount. Any help would go a long way in saving our dear Padma's life.
