About the campaign

Help Dattaram Mohite in his medical condition:
He is a 55 year old brother of an auntie who comes to take care of my son. He is not educated and stays in a slum. He doesn’t have any children to take care of him during the old age. He operates machines in a small business. His monthly wages is approximately INR 6000, out of which he has to incur expenses for his day-to-day living as well as medical treatment. His wife also suffers from illness and can barely do any household chores.

On 30th June, he started getting lot of pain around his stomach area and had lot of swelling, the auntie's son took him to a doctor immediately. They met Dr. Nitin Kakka at Paras Nursing Home in the vicinity, they stay at Kandivali in a slum at Sai Nagar. The doctor said he will have to be operated upon. His operation was conducted on 1st July itself.

Subsequent to the operation, the doctor realised that the patient’s oxygen level was low, and he had to be shifted to the Lifeline Hospital at Malad. At this hospital, he was there for 3 days. The doctors at this hospital mentioned that once he recovers from operation, they will have to perform angiography on the patient.

The auntie's (who visits our place) son Jagdish has already incurred more than INR 1 lac over this person’s treatment. Jagdish also is a salaried employee. Although I have not asked how much he earns, he does not seem to be paid too high, otherwise his mom would not have been working at my place.

It seems, the patient may not be able to join the work force again considering his heart condition. He also seems to be suffering from gaps in his spinal cord.
We are looking to raise an amount equal to INR 112,350 which Jagdish has spent on his uncle’s medical treatment. Jagdish also has to support his on his family and his daughter’s education. We will try and raise further sum as and when need for further treatment (and expenses) arises.
