About the campaign

As a strong advocate of Social Entrepreneurship, DBS India presents the 'People of Purpose' initiative. The aim is to support 9 ventures championed by the DBS India team. So join us, support a social venture you care about, and be a part of the journey of change.One of the ventures selected for this campaign is Cowism.

Cowism's core activities are training farmers to take up sustainable farming practice . Secondly we help farmers who rearing Indian cows in current stage and promote rearing of Indian cows by easy procurement of milk. We plan to provide veterinary service to cows that will ensure the farmers that we are with them. We also provide new and affordable fodder techniques to farmers, cheap nutrients requirement for cows (which we will buy in bulk thus can be given them at lower prices), Assured fixed rate on procurement of milk and ghee (that will be more than current market rate), Free consultancy for other issues on agriculture, initial help for water arrangement and shed construction (Information and techniques), we will ensure that farmer should get maximum returns for their efforts, etc.

We want to create model farms to motivate and inspire farmers and also want to increase their trust with us that we also share the risk of farmer with them along with this we also want to maintain one herd of Indian cows for the same, that we also share risk of rearing Indian cows with them.

Value we are generating:

Farmers-Awareness camps and events, training sessions, other farming inputs and services required by farmers ,bull service for good cows progeny, improved cows breeds, medical services to cows, milk procurement from farmers at good prices, Organic fertilizers and pesticides, etc

Customers-Good quality Indian cow’s milk(A2 beta casein milk) and milk products, other organic farm produce in near future and donation and investment options in order to involve with us.

Society- All these will help farmer to reduce input cost of farming and get regular income at proper intervals and help him to increase his standard of living. This can be measure if his son sees his father’s profession as good to take up.

With the funds raised from this campaign, we will:

•Be serving farmers with guidance, help, counselling and mainly training for sustainable farming along with help in initial phase of sustainable farming along with some free inputs.
•We will be one of the rare ventures providing Indigenous cow’s A2 beta casein milk to people and we will contribute to A2 milk movement operating across the world.
•We are using locavore model for milk supply chain. That is we will be selling raw unprocessed Indian cow milk within 100 km. In order to avoid any processing of milk and maintain freshness of milk.
•As we are working with farmers and promoting sustainable organic farming we will use this supply chain of milk to channelize other organic farm produce to end customers this will assure regular market for organic farm produce from our farmers.
•We also intend to conserve traditional farming practices and add some new affordable techniques to reduce input cost and make farming sustainable.
•This model can scale in form of replication at different places serving farmers and customers in that local area and big network will be created out of this and big movement will start organic farming by rearing Indian cows
