Hello!
Thank you for reading this. As you may know, Roshan and I are tying the knot this May, which marks a very significant milestone in our lives. Needless to say, we are very happy and excited as the day draws closer. In our happiness, we've taken a moment to remember the not so fortunate, and would like to take this opportunity to spread even more joy.
We’ve been very lucky to receive an excellent education and gain access to the many opportunities this brings about. We are indebted to the many amazing teachers who’ve heightened our curiosity and nurtured our love for science.
Sadly, this is not the case for the majority of our country’s children. India has over 50 million students, who go to school but do not learn much science and mathematics because there are not enough teachers in the classroom. This is one of the biggest problems facing Indian education today.
Education cannot improve only through more textbooks and buildings - We need great teachers! The Science Education Initiative (SEI) Fellowship is India’s first Science and Math teacher-residency program. SEI identifies bright undergraduates and train them to be part-time science and math teachers in underserved government classrooms.
We would like to take this opportunity to help these children who certainly deserve better. We strongly believe that our friends would opt to support this worthy cause. By donating to those in need, you can bring about a sea of change in the circumstances of these children and through them, their entire families and communities.
For every dollar donated, you are supporting students from low-income government schools in India.
We would like to thank you for whatever contributions you are able to make, and could not have asked for a better wedding wish!
Love,
Chandni & Roshan
