Give your support to Bashir Ahmad to revive the Khatan Cashmere work

About the campaign

Bashir Ahmad Bhat excels at Khathan Cashmere work, which he weaves on a semi-auto loom. For ten years, he has been a part of JK Handloom. His family of five consists of two unmarried daughters, one of whom teaches school children and the other does hook work chain stitching. His son is also a weaver who uses the semi-auto loom. After the onslaught of the Kashmir foods, his equipment and prior work was irreparably damaged, thereby eliminating his efforts over the last ten years. In order to help him recover the damage and continue to sustain himself through his craft, Ants Crafts and JK Handlooms have come together to help develop designs and marketing strategies to help these goods earn a revenue in the domestic and international market.

Fulfilling the demand for these products will help Bhat earn a substantial income and enable him to go back to the life he knew. However, to fulfil these orders, he needs to procure large quantities of raw material and repair the looms he owns. Additionally, he needs to make investments to prevent his future goods from getting destroyed. With a loan of Rs. 5 lakhs from Milaap, he will be able to sustain himself and rebuild whatever was lost during the floods.
