If you feel that you want to give a gift for my 50th birthday, I would be very happy that you give it as contribution to this fundraising campaign to support Parikrma students further education.
Two of Parikrma students, Manjunath and Rajshekhar, who have just graduated from Junior College with good marks ( 76% and 82% respectively) are very keen to do a degree in Hotel Management and enter the Hospitality industry. This is a 3 year degree program offered by a few colleges in Bangalore such as the Presidency College of Hotel Management.
Both students come from families that cannot afford the fees for this program, which works out to Rs.1,75,000 per student across the 3 years.
Manjunath and his two younger sisters are orphans, staying with a cousin's family in extremely difficult circumstances. Rajshekhar's father, a weaver, and his mother, a flower seller, cannot afford to send Rajshekar and his siblings to college. Without your generous help, both boys will be forced to quit their education and work at jobs with little prospects for the future. On the other hand, a degree in Hotel Management would ensure a far better future for both boys and their families.
While Manjunath wishes to be a Chef, Rajshekhar would like to work in the front office after graduation.
This campaign aims to raise funds for Manjunath and Rajshekhar, such that they might go onto college and equip themselves with the skills they need to get good jobs and bootstrap themselves and their families out of their poverty.
