Why am I fundraising?

While Chennai/Cuddalore rain relief is in progress, next step in bringing lives to normal is to focus on Rehab. GHF Rain Relief team is working on ground in North Chennai (Mint, RR Nagar-Kuppa Medu, Korrkupet, Anarthanayaki Nagar where we run our grooming centeres. We also have team working in Cuddalore focusing on relief for now. To plan rehabilitation, in selected places of North Chennai and few Villages in Cuddalore, we need lot of support in putting together a Rehab kit and if necessary, to rebuild homes. To start with we are reaching out to support through Milaap

Whom are we going to help?

North Chennai - (Mint, RR Nagar-Kuppa Medu, Korrkupet, Muthamiz Nagar, Anarthanayaki Nagar) . We are already working with local youth in these areas doing relief work. Next plan is to rehab the affected families

Cuddalore - We have our friends doing relief work in  Melkumaramangalam, Vaanbakkam, Eidhalur, agaram,theerthanagiri, mettupalayam, aalapakkam,aayakudi, kothavacheri, periyapattu, keel-aazhunjipattu, mel-azhunjipattu. We are coordinating relief material with available help in Chennai/Banaglore/Trichy. Post relief we'll be assessing the rehab needs of these villages 

What do I plan to do with the funds?

Focus on putting together a Rehab kit and if necessary, to rebuild homes in North Chennai and few villages in Cuddalore. Our end goal is ensure that affected people have their shelter and lives back to normal.

FAQs

I am already contributing to Chennai Rain Relief? Are you not part of the groups that are working on ground?

- Calamity like this needs all the support from multiple groups (NGOs, Govt, Social Groups, Volunteers etc..) and the level of damage that these rains caused can't be set alright by any single group. We are trying to do our bit in the areas where we are already working (through our Grooming centeres). Idea is to help. So as long as you are doing your bit, it shouldn't matter whether you contribute here or somewhere else

How will know that the funds raised are spent for the right purpose?
- GHF team takes responsibility to publish the expense statement for all the funds collected for Rain Relief. Once we are done with Rehab, we'll be sharing the entire expense details will all the donors. We'll also keep you posted with frequent updates of the work that we are doing for Rain Rehab
