GeoHazards Society recently organised a series of Training of Trainers and hospital specific disaster management programs in all the 14 districts of the state of Kerala.
The training was provided to all the general hospitals to ensure them that they remain functional in post disaster scenario and learn to tackle internal disasters.

The state has witnessed widespread damage in the last two years during monsoon due to excess rain and flooding which severely impacted the health facilities in many places causing them to shutdown for months.

As a result of the training the general hospitals of all the 14 districts came out with a hospital disaster preparedness plan which they will be able to use on a regular basis to tackle multiple emergencies.

Dear Supporters,

Geohazards Society is planning to tackle the issue of Climate Change in an innovative fashion.
The organization has procured seed balls which will be given to the employees who then can plant these or can drop them in open grounds whenever they are traveling.
Care was taken to select only those tree seeds which are naturally occurring in the area so that it doesn't hamper the ecology of the region.
Your contribution will help us in advancing our project in other parts of the country as well.

GeoHazards Society has been organizing numerous disaster preparedness program across the country and has sensitized more than 10,000 children, more than 8,000 school teachers, more than 2,000 hospital staff and more than 2,000 engineers on various disasters.
An important aspect of disaster preparedness that has been part of all their programs is family disaster preparedness.
An important aspect which we all miss to address is family preparedness. What will happen to our families while we are in our office/school/at work and disaster strikes?  We have to prepare our families beforehand so that we can sustain on our own for the next 48-72 hours without any support.
