Fundraise for a Cause with Milaap : the Best Crowdfunding | Milaap
25th March 2017
Greetings to all contributors and well wishers for the campaign. Since my last update my days have been blessed. Using the last withdrawl of 4,800/- I have been able to purchase part of the necessary medicines for the month of march and also keep emergency cash with them in case of emergency.
I have started a new job in Goa as a head host for a resturant by the name of Thalassa. Although my days have been hectic and occupied with learning my new job, each day is a gift. My new job has presented me with a possibility to take better care of Maa and Baba. Not only is the salary given to me here is much much better than my underpaid call center jobs in Bangalore but also it's a job I love doing to bits. Here my talent to speak and interact with individuals is valued and not at any time undermined unlike my previous employers.
Maa and baba who will be shifting to Goa once season ends here which will be around June / July are still in Bangalore. They are being taken care by two good friends of mine who stay in intervals for most part of each day. Maa's health had fallen drastically in the recent past, but she is improving with thundering speed. With immense help from my current employer and with the funds received from Milaap, I am able to take care of all the medicines they need and also pay for extra help at home for daily work.
Having all of this said, the deposit amount of 35,000/- is still pending for the house my parents live in Bangalore. The EMI for the refrigerator and the washing machine for the month of march is still pending and needs to be paid at the earliest, failing which the equipments will be taken back from me. It's only on help from Milaap that I can depend on to overcome these hurdles which are still waiting to be crossed.
All these days from December when this campaign began has been a gift from all well wishers and contributors. All these days that I have been able to cross is a testament to all the help I have received and all the prayers all of you have recited for my family. It's all of that positive energy that has enabled me to reach this space where I can imagine and expect a better life ahead

THANK YOU

notice from bajaj finserve for defaulting emi for the refrigerator and washing machine
27th February 2017
As must have been told by an intellectual being, the night is darkest when the sunrise is near. As all my contributors have been a companion in my journey, each one of you have been a witness to the perils a common man has to face in this corporate structure world. Time and again my trust and belief in an employer who swears by the norms of labour law to do justice to my employment has gone.

With the help of all contributors the past number months have been a less stressful and a fulfilling month for my family. The medicines, the food, the emi (refrigerator and washing machine), the rent for my house, nothing would have been possible without all the help. As is known that the world we live in considers money as it' central nervous system, without it, nothing is possible, let alone requesting a house owner or a finance company to lend me some time until I arrange any deficit amount.
Focusing on the numbers, the last withdrawl request from the contributed amount has been utilised for the payment of emi which is for the washing machine (since Baba's movement is limited to his bed owing to the partial paralysis, keeping his bed sheets and clothes clean is of paramount importance to avoid any kind of infection) and the refrigerator (used to store medicines and injections {insulin}) bought post babas stroke to help life easier for him. Also the remaining funds were utilised to pay partial amount for the house rent, where we shifted in January.
Today, I will be requesting for the another withdrawl. The amount being 4,836/-, I would like to put light on the immediate component it will be used for once receive it, the entire amount would go to the payment of emi for the appliances, although it will not cover the entire emi requirement of 9,200/- paying the partial amount would do some good as far as giving me more time to pay the remaining is concerned.

Coming to the most important update. Baba is doing well, he is happy, smiling, eating well and his blood pressure and sugar levels are maintaing it's numbers.
The medicines purchased with all the help we received from Milaap has enabled continuity of his treatment and stability of his vitals.
As per a family doctor who visited him two weeks back, it is great that despite his ailment and physical restriction he is able to move his right limb and hand partially, also despite his age and medical complication his body is able to maintain the blood pressure and sugar at a decent fair level.

Resting my case for today, I would like to add that after much struggle to find an employer worthy of working and one who holds the same gravity as the promises made, I have found myself a dream job as a management staff at a famous Greek restaurant in Goa, where my pay starting April will be much more than what was promised (but never fulfilled) here in Bangalore. I will be moving them this week, and will eventually shift Maa and baba.

All of this being told, as far as the campaign requirement goes, it's still a long distance to cover. A list of life saving medicos investigations need to be taken care of for baba, the remainder of deposit amount for the house where we have shifted is yet to be paid, the emi (washing machine and Refrigerator) until the month of may is to be arranged. Until I reach stable ground starting April, I so dearly request help to make sure the days to come and happy and smooth for Maa and especially Baba.

Despite knowing the environment around me to be a mix of yin and yan, it has been possible for me to swim past all odds and see the first light of sunrise no matter how dark the night was.

* Emi acknowledgement email from Bajaj finserve which is for the washing machine and the refrigerator.
* Electricity bill copies which have been paid using funds contributed.
* House agreement. Partial rent of which has been paid using the last withdrawl requested.

The milestone which all contributors have helped me reach has enabled me to keep my family's ship afloat since the commencement of the campaign. The response which I have received is phenomenal not to mention a miracle of sorts.
