Dear  Supporters,

Baby Parvathys genetic study results are back. She is confirmed to have a rare disease called primary hyperoxaluria. This is due to deficiency of enzyme in her liver and subsequent accumulation of chemical called oxalate in her body. This accumulation of oxalate had lead to her kidney damage. This would mean that she would require liver transplant in addition to kidney transplant for her survival. Her medical team is currently assessing her fitness for a combined liver and renal transplant.

Thank you for the support.

Dear Supporters,

Baby Parvathy had a set back since last few days. She developed fever and difficulty of breathing. Given her fragile health , she deteriorated rapidly. She had to be put on a ventilator. She also developed bleeding through her mouth and nose. She required lot of treatment in the ICU. Parvathy being a fighter made a quick turn around over the weekend. Doctors have taken her off the ventillator today afternoon. When I met her today evening inspite of being tired she had a little smile reserved for me. Doctors have informed that her Genetic blood tests are still awaited, ( These tests could take weeks to process I am told,)

Regards,
Rhea

Dear supporter,

The support so far has been tremendous. Thank you all. Here's an update from Parvathy's doctor.

Dear all,

Thank you all for the support towards baby Parvathy. Her transplant date has not been fixed yet as we are waiting for reports on the genetic analysis done. We are investigating if there is any damage to her liver. The estimation of the surgery will reach 15 lakhs if any liver procedures are included. We have issued a revised estimation letter on this. She is now coming to the hospital as an outpatient for dialysis every alternate day. We will keep you posted once we decide on the next steps of treatment.
