Dear Supporters,

Thank you for the wonderful support. Finally, it started to rain in Bangalore and the water is getting filled into the lakes. However, there are few areas where the Team YPLBCT has found out sewage being diverted again into the lake. The team has decided to write a letter to the Pollution Control Board and have them issue notices to violators.

Let's keep fighting for our rights!! We still need the required funds as we could manage to get 4% of our needs which will help us to keep our fight with agencies going but we will need more funds to make the lake better.

Please keep sharing and supporting us.

Thank you!

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for the support. Recently Dr Sangunni, our Chairperson has met Mr. Leo F. Saldanha who is full-time Coordinator of Environment Support Group and discussed the problem we have in hand with KPCL coming up with a 370 MW Gas based power plant and impact on the Lakes. Mr. Leo Saldanha has given his inputs to Dr Sangunni and has agreed to help YPLBCT by helping with Environment Impact Assessment.

In the mean while some of our volunteers have investigated the following facts from their personal sources and internet.
  • Many gas-based power plants in India have been de-commissioned due to lack of supply of Gas and economic feasibility.
  • The Gas Powerplant will evaporate approximately 10 million litres of water every hour. (While our city is facing crisis with ground water and portable water is it wise to have this kind of water evaporate).
Eminent professionals and Bio Diversity experts from Bengaluru are working towards a plan for creating young citizen scientists in a more structured, scientific and systematic manner and long-term monitoring program.

The YPLBCT team  sincerely thank our donors and are looking forward for improved bio-diversity at Puttenahalli Lake soon.

As we started to make progress, we want to approach the local associations to join us in our journey. We are going around this Sunday to Yelahanka Apartments.

Thank you!
