Hi folks
The good news is that Sumeer's kidney transplant surgery has been finalized. Its been a long and painstaking process which included reverting to dialysis, multiple rounds of testing, inordinate bureaucratic challenges on various legal approvals. Now onto the next step, the transplant surgery which is scheduled for 11th Sep 2019.

The surgery is being performed at the Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, Chennai, India. Doctors have advised that the surgery is a very high risk due to various complications, he has had over the past few months, especially related to his heart function. Apart from this, the donor is live and has a different blood group. This adds to the complications.
Doctors have also advised a minimum 7 months recuperation time for complete acceptance of the kidney, which involves very high end medicines and post surgery rehab treatments.
The hospital has advised a INR. 15-16 L approx estimate for the surgery. This includes cost of hospitalization, surgery, rehab of the donor, special medication and treatments required for the next 6 months to ensure that the kidney is fully accepted. As per medical protocol this is the most normal to expect!

Due to significant post surgery complications in April 2019, Sumi & family had to invest approximately 7 L beyond the original estimate to recuperate. They have had to draw on your contributions beyond the planned budget. Hence the need to increase the goal amount.
We pray that, all of you will shower the same kindness and understanding as you have done till now.
Thanks
