Fundraise for a Cause with Milaap : the Best Crowdfunding | Milaap
24th August 2018
Dear Valued Supporters and others,

As I indicated in the previous update about some small steps taken in setting up my center, it gives me pleasure to inform that we plan to make a very modest beginning in a formal manner on 26th August, 2018 when the opening has been scheduled. While the completion of the center still requires a lot of work which has been held up due to lack of requisite resources, we believe that it is important to set the ball rolling at this juncture and gradually build up. This has been the culmination of the last couple of years of my effort to revitalize and popularize indigenous and local Jharkhandi cuisine as an important part of our culture. I would like to appreciate your valued contributions and donations which have been critical. Overall, the fundraising campaign has not been able to secure enough funds required to support a continuation of the initiative, I believe the process is also constrained by several external factors including the recent unfortunate catastrophe in Kerala. I have been trying to gradually build up the center over last few months scratching my limited resources and my request for governmental support caught in red tape for the last few years. As an indigenous social entrepreneur, it has been a lot of struggle. As the process moves on towards institutionalization, the importance of the work is expected to be realized more in the society and bring in greater visibility and support. I shall keep you further updated and would sincerely request you to help spread the word.

Sharing few pics from my recent visit to Mangla Haat (market) of Chaibasa, a major center for indigenous produce.

Warm regards.

Aruna

Dear valued supporters,

My heartfelt thanks for the critical help and support provided. It does give me a lot of motivation to move forward in my mission. I have already initiated some small steps in setting up the eatery and training center place. This includes some traditional wall paintings and setting up the dekhi (traditional grain pounder). Have also been on short trips to the rural areas in search of cuisines and forest food. I am attaching some new pics.

I would like to sincerely request you to share the fundraiser campaign in your networks to help the cause of preservation of indigenous culture and food.

Warm love and regards...........Aruna
