Dear Supporters,

I am Sudhakar, a Milaap Open fellow in Bengaluru. I met Venkatesh and his son, Vinay, at Apollo Hospitals, Bengaluru on 21st September. He was admitted to the hospital on 19th September.

After the surgery in July, Venkatesh developed a catheter-related infection for which he has been under treatment. The treatment has been in the form of antibiotic injections. The symptoms of infection recur almost every week. The symptoms primarily have been sudden shivering and high fever. Since the 1st week of August, he has been admitted to the hospital 5 times.

They have applied for a cadaveric donor for the small intestine at Nimhans. He is the first in waiting list queue for A+ blood group donor. Venkatesh’s diet has been idlis, curd rice and khichdi since the surgery happened.

His son Vinay joined the first year of B. Sc (Agri) this academic year. However, he had to quit the course midway to take care of his father. Venkatesh’s daughter, Divya, is in the 2nd year of Engineering in RV College, Bengaluru.

Let's keep Venkatesh in our prayers. Let's hope his family has the strength to tide over this tough phase of their life.
