22/01/2019: Arjun's health condition has improved significantly from last week. He has started eating Semi-solid food.

23/01/2019: He has been shifted to General Ward (Level 1) for another 15 days. Now he can move with the help of a wheelchair.

Note:
  • He is having physiotherapy which will help him with movement problems.
  • A speech and language therapy is in progress.
  • Regular counseling to discuss his problems and to help him find ways to cope emotionally.

Thank you for the wonderful support. Here is an update on Arjun's heath.

18/01/2019 15:00 - Arjun's overall condition is improved. He is able to talk now. His body is showing positive response. Today is the last day of his Globucel medicine (5-day course completed).

19/01/2019 12:00 - Arjun has been shifted to HDU (High dependency unit). Earlier he was in Level 3 critical unit i.e, ITU, now he is in Level 2 critical unit.

Note:
  • Level 1—Ward based care where the patient does not require organ support (for example, they may need an IV or oxygen by face mask)
  • Level 2—High dependency unit (HDU). Patients needing single organ support (excluding mechanical ventilation) such as renal haemofiltration or inotropes and invasive BP monitoring. They are staffed with one nurse to two patients
  • Level 3—Intensive care. Patients requiring two or more organ support (or needing mechanical ventilation alone). Staffed with one nurse per patient and usually with a doctor present in the unit 24 hours per day.
19/01/2019 16:00 - He has been shifted to HDU Bed no - 601 in INS. He is in much better condition now than the previous day. After this HDU it will be Rehab. Will keep you posted.

Here's a detailed update on Arjun's health

Timeline:

12/01/19 16:00 - Arjun went to Dr. Sushmita Pal, the MD physician.
>> she has given pain killer injection, with some medicines (eg for gastric, Anti-biotics)

12/01/19 23:45 - Arjun felt some numbness in palm and leg, Took another gastric pill and slept.

13/01/19 02:00 - Arjun was in pain with muscle weakness, abnormality walking, problems with coordination, or weakness of the arms and legs.

13/01/19 04:00 - Arjun was admitted to AMRI emergency ward. Arjun was given similar injections of Pain killer and some antibiotics and the send him back to home with the suggestion to meet Neurologist.

13/01/19 10:00 - He was witnessing difficulty raising the foot, difficulty speaking, difficulty swallowing, facial muscle weakness, shortness of breath, slow reflexes, uncomfortable tingling, and burning etc.

13/01/19 13:30 - Arjun was interviewed with Dr. Pal in North city hospital, Then Dr. Pal referred him to Institute of neuroscience with a doubt of Guillain-Barré syndrome.

13/01/19 14:30 - He was unable to walk and was unable to talk.

13/01/19 15:30 - Arjun had CT scan (Brain) in INS(Institute of neuroscience) and the doctor asked us to admit him in the hospital as soon as possible.

14/01/19 02:00 - Arjun had Spine MRI and some other test which confirmed that he is having Guillain-Barré syndrome.

14/01/19 16:20 -  Medication started

>> Globucel 10gm in 100ml
>> 3 bottles per day for 5 days
Injection cost is Rs 42,000 per day
